ABOUT THE ARTIST

Todd Carignan was born and raised in Wilmington, NC. At an early age, his parents enrolled him in private art lessons, and he's been in love with art ever since. Carignan attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, where he received his BFA in Sequential Art and a minor in Art History. He works in many mediums, including oils, watercolors and charcoal. And he paints many subjects, from portraits to landscapes to architecture to pop culture icons.

Carignan teaches at the Museum School at Cameron Art Museum with special focus on portraiture, figurative and landscapes. Carignan also teaches at DREAMS of Wilmington, a non-profit after-school arts education program for children. He has won multiple awards, including an Oil Painters of America Award of Excellence, and has art in collections throughout the US and internationally. A lover of travel, you may come across him painting en plein air in India, Vietnam, Europe, the United States or around Wilmington, NC, where he lives with his wife and two sons. He keeps his studio at Acme Art Inc. and is represented by New Elements Gallery in Wilmington.
